Hello
Hi, I’m Claudia—a geologist with PhD with a deep passion for understanding Earth's magmatic and metamorphic processes—especially through petrography, which I absolutely love. My current research explores layered mafic-ultramafic intrusions, their formation, and their potential for critical minerals. I enjoy combining fieldwork, geochemistry, and modeling to piece together the stories rocks have to tell.
My Story
I’m currently a postdoctoral researcher at Carleton University, where I study how layered mafic-ultramafic intrusions form and whether they hold the next big nickel-copper (Ni-Cu) treasure. My journey started in Brazil, where I earned my bachelor’s and master’s in Geology (specializing in Mineralogy and Petrology), before venturing into a cotutelle PhD between Canada and Brazil. Whether I’m out in the field hammering rocks, in the lab decoding mineral secrets, or working with industry to uncover economic potential, I’m always chasing the stories Earth has to tell. Let’s talk rocks!
